The DTSC has posted some additional information on the types of variances that will be issued and the questions that will be part of that application process. Please find that information here: https://dtsc.ca.gov/treated-wood-waste-variances/
PLEASE NOTE that TRANSFER STATION AND UNLINED LANDFILLS will be using the “Handler and Transporter” variance. This also applies to lined landfills that will not be disposing of material on site and which will simply send this material to another location for disposal.
DTSC will NOT begin accepting applications for another couple weeks and will provide more information on the accompanying fee/reimbursement agreement in the near future.
